During the last days (generation of the fig tree), the Elect will be delievered up for a testimony against those of the world. It is the JOB of the Elect to serve as Instruments of The Holy Spirit During the great Apostacy (tribulation):

The Duty

Lk.21:12-19

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish.In your patience possess ye your souls.

Lk.12:10-12

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say./

Mk.13:11

But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost./

Matt.10

:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.,20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. ,21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death,22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.,27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops,28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.,32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven./³³ But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.³⁴ Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me)

The elect will face persecution, beatings, prison and (Phy.) death

Rev.6:9-11

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?¹¹ And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Acts 20:23-24
