Each of the cups at the Passover (sedar) have a name as well as observances based of the "i wills" in Ex.6:6-7/
1 Cup of Sanctification (being set apart)"I will bring you out "/ Kiddush
2 Cup of Thanksgiving "I will rid you out of their bondage"/ Maggid
3 Cup of Redemption "I will redeem you"/ Birkat Hamazon
4 Cup of Acceptance "I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God"/ Hallel
Matt.26:29/ Mk.14:25/ Acts 10:41
Those who dont partake of the acceptance will in fact suffer at the cup of Wrath. Sooo, What Cup is being mentioned in Matt.26:39 &42 in Messiah's prayer in Gethsemane? A cup of death Or the Cup of Wrath? Where do we read of a "cup of death"? If this "Cup" is physical death then why were we told Christ opened not his mouth and even knew such was to come to pass (his crucifixion)and said He laid His life down that no one took it from him rather it was a commandment given to him of his Father. Could his concern been more about the damnation upon those not in covenant when the time comes rather than preserving his physical life? The Concern mentioned in 2 Pet.3:9 and the fact that he would also be the one to Judge the unjust on judgement day as well as gather his together. It came with the victory of the Gospel./(cup of Elijah- repentance)

Luke 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

NOTE: Joseph used a CUP that was hidden in Benjamin's things to call Joseph's brothers to confession (repentance!!!/ deliverance)

Cup of Wrath /Matt.26:39 - Matt.26:42/ Rev.14:10 (Proverbs 23:31) Rev.16:19/

Is.51:17,22,23

Those who arent found in acceptance when the cup of wrath is poured out will recieve great tourment and their end is the 2nd death. (Jer.15:38) Rev.16:17,19

----

Some say if Yeshua willingly laid down his life then why does it say let this cup pass from me Matt.26:39 but all one has to do is continue reading...the answer is in vs.42 "He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done" / there are many "cups" mentioned in the bible and this one is the cup of wrath and he did drink of that cup and shall pour it on the wicked when he returns Rev.14:10 / Rev.16:17,19/(Is.51:17-23)/ 2 Pet.3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Yeshua (the man in his humanity) wasn't excited about going to the cross and (in his humanity cried out on the cross) and here is wondering if the cup could pass from him. But Yeshua didnt come to do his own will (that of his flesh) but rather the will of G-D and confirms this in relation to the cup in vs. 42.
