תּוֹרָה,  \ הלכה /

Yeshayahu 40:3 A voice calls, "In the desert, clear the way of the Lord, straighten out in the wilderness, a highway for our God."... Yehoshua 1:8 This book of the Torah shall not leave your mouth; you shall meditate therein day and night, in order that you observe to do all that is written in it, for then will you succeed in all your ways and then will you prosper

Torah gives the standards of Atonements so cant say you have atonement apart from Torah.

Jn.4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews .....

Without the Law there would be no Grace / - *unmerited/ undeserving - favor/ * Y? The Law.

The law is our school master (Way of righteousness) to bring us to the pace of repentance (return) and atonement.

Yeshua made it rather clear that he came Not to do away with the Law, but rather observed Torah built a fence around Torah and stressed repentance. All in its appointed time. None shall enter that mock the righteous if a generation. (Col.2:13-16) There is a standard that is met to recieve blessings or curses. G-D is Just and there are effects for transgressing The standard. This price will (must) be paid. Yet within the law we are also told of atonement (covering of sin/ blotting it out) Thus when we have sinned we are under the judgement of the law that Must come. But when we Repent unto atonement that effect of sin is carried out in a way that we are redeemed. Thus the ordinances against us in Col.2:14 that were nailed to the cross are the effects of sin covered by the blood atonement fulfilled on the cross. The verse is Not about the Torah being destroyed but rather the ordinances that were against us individually for our individual sins have been paid in full..

What Does Yeshua Say? Matthew 5:17-18
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
vs.19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus said unto him, (1) Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, (2) Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mark 12:29-31

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Depending on how one sees the Law, the two commandments above simplify the 10 commandments and serves as an outline to go by summing up the complete Law! (You may find the Didache interesting on the subject)
According to Jews and Christians the first 4 commandments have to do with your (1) relationship with God! which are sumed up with the first great commandment Christ gave (first 3 if you are catholic or lutheran)! The last 6 commandments (7 if you are lutheran or catholic)are summed up by the (2)nd commandment Christ gave and are civil (laws)haveing to do with your relationship with others!

Christ is not the only Jew to simplefy it like this for he asked another Jew how he read the law and he answered just like Christ did and he was not a Christian but a Jew!

Luke 10:26-28
He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind (Deut.6:5); and thy neighbour as thyself (Lev.19:18). And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live (Lev.18:5).

Christ did this a thrid time:
after Qouting the Civil Laws!!!!!!! and further exsplains that these are simplfied in this way!

Romans 13:8-10
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
And a forth time!

Matthew 19:17-19
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

and a 5th time (5 meaning Grace and not to mention Emphasis)
Matthew 7:12

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Heb.13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Christ supported the law even when descibing how to pray Matt.6:9-13/ Luke 11:2-4!!

Grace is more than just claiming the Name of Jesus. Matt.25:11-12. Even the demons believe James 2:19. Its all about an individual Relationship with the Almighty. Only the Messiah was sinless. Those who embrace the Passover (sacrifice) shall enter into the Sabbath (rest). Those that dont shall recieve physical and Spiritual death. James 1:15 There are two candlesticks in the Word of God. True Judaism and Christianity. (I suggest the blog The Two witnesses). We as Christians claim the name of Yeshua (Jesus) to show we do embrace the Passover Sabbath. The Passover sacrifice gives victory over sin (GRACE). Those who dont partake of the sacrifice will be found guilty according to THE LAW

Romans 10:4 - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

"End" - tel'-os
From a primary word τέλλω tellō (to set out for a definite point or goal); properly the point aimed at as a limit, that is, (by implication) the conclusion of an act or state (termination [literally, figuratively or indefinitely], result [immediate, ultimate or prophetic], purpose); specifically an impost or levy (as paid): - + continual, custom, end (-ing), finally, uttermost. Compare G5411. Rom.6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Rev.22:14 Galatians 5:18

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Recognize sin and Repent

John 3:14-21

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved(exsposed). But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Deut.17:9 The Levitical priests were the government at times of the temple and those who traspassed the law were to be brought before them and They would execute God's judgement. This priesthood isn't in order and the temple doesnt stand. Ecc.12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments (mitsvâh) : for this is the whole duty of man (אדם - Mankind). (Rev.4:11). When you partake of atonement your sins are covered according to Torah. That is the Gospel (Good news) of Yeshua (Salvation).

"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

Rom.3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law./ What then? shall we sin (transgress the law), because we are not "under" the law, but under grace? "God forbid". / What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet./

Gal.2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners (transgressors of the Law), is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid/ Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law./... The law condemns and serves as a school master to bring one unto Yeshua/Salvation (Gal.3) who kept its standards yet was unjustly murdered by those in authority (who let a murder go) yet G-D Almighty justified His most anointed son and gave him Power over death as he reigns at the Right hand of YaHoVeh

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Man can self justify anything within his own mind (evil inclination)

Who has not transgressed the righteous standard of Torah? Who is drawn and who shines The Light of Torah unto the nations as the nations. The same one who came preaching Repent, preaching good tidings unto the meek; healed up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.

Torah gave the standards of atonement. The First Word of Torah declares the Gospel. Yeshua fulfilled Torah and by that righteousness we know Torah is life. Those who strive against it are worthy of death.

“Great is Torah, for it gives life to its doers in this world and in the next world, as it is written: ‘For they [the teachings of the Torah] give life to those who find them and healing to all flesh’ (Proverbs 4:22). It also says: ‘Healing will it be for your flesh and marrow for your bones’ (ibid., 3:8). It also says: ‘It is a tree of life to those who take hold of it, and those who support it are fortunate’ (3:18). And it says: ‘They are a graceful garland for your head and necklaces for your throat’ (1:9). And it says: ‘It will give your head a graceful garland; it will provide you a crown of glory’ (4:9). And it says: ‘For in me [the Torah] will you lengthen days, and years of life will be added to you’ (9:11). And it says: ‘Length of days in its right hand; in its left are wealth and honor’ (3:16). And it is written: ‘For length of days, years of life, and peace will they [the Torah’s teachings] increase for you’ (3:2).” - source of quotes

Religious Comparison in view of the 10 Commandments (Ex.20)

Above Chart As seen on wikipedia

Traditions:

  • SSeptuagint, generally followed by Orthodox Christians.

  • PPhilo, same as the Septuagint, but with the prohibitions on killing and adultery reversed.

  • T: Jewish Talmud, makes the "prologue" the first "saying" or "matter" and combines the prohibition on worshiping deities other than Yahweh with the prohibition on idolatry.

  • AAugustine follows the Talmud in combining verses 3–6, but omits the prologue as a commandment and divides the prohibition on coveting in two and following the word order of Deuteronomy 5:21 rather than Exodus 20:17.

  • LLutherans follow Luther's Large Catechism, which follows Augustine but omits the prohibition of images[17] and uses the word order of Exodus 20:17 rather than Deuteronomy 5:21 for the ninth and tenth commandments.

  • Division of the Ten Commandments by religion/denominations
