We know most accepted holidays of today are not biblica and are rooted in pagan traditions.
But most of us grew up celebrating these days with family & friends, and look forward to the family gatherings. So how do we as Christians follow God's laws and stay free of pagan holidays?

Had a few responces posted here yet when i tried updating the first one only half of it posted which threw all my posts out of sink so i just made a blog out of the Great topic.

Hello,

I am a new member to FRIENDS IN CHRIST, However, I have been viewing the Sheppard's Chapel for
sometime now.

I enjoy studying with Pastor Murray very much, and to say the least I have learned very much, as I
continue to grow in CHRIST.

In answer to your question, I do not take part in the easter bunny, I celebrate Passover at this time.
I do participate in Thanksgiving as it was declared by President Lincoln, proclaiming it a national
holiday. And it is a time for family and friends to fellowship, nothing more.

I do not celebrate Christmas though I don't stop my parents and family from giving my children gifts at that time.  It is not Biblical at all with its santa claus and all.  the book of Revelation makes mention of a time of making merry and sending gifts and that for three days over the death of two witnesses that have yet to appear.  that celebration will be short lived.

I do not celebrate Easter.  I do remember the Lords Resurrection one week after the Jewish Passover as it is found in the Gospels.

Thanksgiving is a National Holiday remembering God's hand over the early settlers.  Nothing wrong with remembering that.  But not necessary

I am not Jewish nor have I ever been commanded as a Christian in any of the church writings of Paul to celebrate Passover.  It is a Jewish Holiday commanded to ALL ISRAEL.  And that would go for all three that all Israeli males are to celebrate.

Having said that I would not say you can't if you want to celebrate Jewish Holidays or any day as a holiday I will not judge you.   Col 2:16 ¶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:

blessings

I disagree with you we celebrate Passover in remembrance of Jesus Christ.

One does not have to be Jewish to celebrate Passover.

Also regarding you're belief that all the books of the bible are not

meant for us is utterly absurd.

All 66 books carry a message to us the children of GOD.

Jesus Christ ate the passover like every other good Jewish man was commanded too.  the passover can be connected to the lamb who blood was shed for Israel the night of the death of the first born in all of Egypt.

And though Jesus is a type of passover lamb he is not "the" passover lambs that were slain that night.

The Bible is FOR us it is not all written TO us.  There is a difference in that and what you are trying to say I said.  You would do well to learn that.

You seem to have some sort of bone you like to pick with me as you are following me around, and no matter what post I make on other peoples questions you always have to bring up the "books of the Bible" or "rapture" .

We are not to debate. the few times it is mentioned in the Bible it is done so as a form of sinful activity that we are to avoid and not be involved in.

Isaiah 58:4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

Romans 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

2 Corinthians 12:20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

I have shown Biblically all issues and just because you don't agree doesn't make me wrong or in error.  But your reactions are wrong and in error if we are truly brothers in Christ you will cease and desist your actions of debating me on every corner of this site.

NO DEBATE,

I'm stating what i believe to be correct, that is all. So no need to worry

I'm not attempting any type of debate.

I too have a right to speak the word as I believe, why the venom?

Venom? it would seem you need more practice at discernment

there is no venom.  It is an observation and yes you are debating, and more specifically you are targeting me.

If scripture does not convict you then nothing can, for the word of God is sharper than a two edge sword, it is spirit and it is truth.  The Holy Ghost convicts of sin through the revealed word of God.

Blessing

I differ with you're opinion, and discern that some of what you write

is in conflict with what I believe.

Target you, I think not if that is what you believe than you are mistaken

and I do apologize if this helps you.

I could say that it is you that is targeting me, but that would

accomplish nothing constructive.

If you desire I will not comment on any of you're posts, just

say the word and I will .

Blessings Chette

Please be advised it is not my intention to cause anyone a problem.

I 'm a child of the living GOD and I study to show myself approved.

Under no circumstance do I think I know more than anyone else,

however, one most ask questions of others to get their perspective.

How else can we learn if we don't ask questions.

I believe all books of the Bible are meant for us to learn from

and obtain knowledge to verify parts of the new testament that are

written in the old testament.

Jesus quoted psalms 22 while he was being crucified, this is but one

example, and this is why all 66 books of the Bible are important

and GODS letter to us.
