I just wanted to post this (a current study of mine) here to consider any response given! I feel this arguement will soon go viral among muslims in debates with Christians. (You may need to watch their video at the facebook link below to know their cliams well enough to discuss and or respond to it)

I recently saw a post by a muslim on Facebook in which he used an area of our bible to claim mention of muhammad (of all people). A portion I personally haven't seen muslims attempt to use before (Is.42:1-). It was posted in video form, (Here is the original video post:)

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152642899011104&fref=nf

- Is.42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

In the Jewish commentaries on this parsha (Chapter) it says that the "servant" is "Israel" and I personally see how Israel and spacifically Messiah which is of Israel apply (to verse one/ "servant").

Many biblical commentaries (to avoid confusion) state that the "servant" of vs.1 is Messiah and vs.19 is Israel as a whole. (servant is mentioned in 41:8 Jacob-Israel /44:1/ 44:21/45:4/ 49:3..../ A Redeemer 41:14)

- Is.42:11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

Anyway back to the claims of the muslims. I do know that "Kedar" is a son of Ishmael (vs.11) and relates to his descendants (the Bedouins) and they use the Hebrew word (sela) for "rock" there in vs.11 to point to the mountain (with the same name) in Medina. Not only this but when i look through some of  my Christian elders commentaries on vs.19 it says in relation to the word /"perfect = an intimate friend or trusted one. Hebrew meshullam (plural of shalam), to be at peace with (compare 2 Sam.20:19, Job 22:21, Ps. 7:4) It is from this word we have Mussulman and Moslem"./ I find it strange that such a well respected “Christian" elder (Bullinger) would point to "muslims" here. Just looking for some discussion and May The Spirit give us revelation on this.

Notes: (based on commentaries / Not me claiming anything just to personally consider while I study)

I have also noticed mention in a commentary I have read on Isaiah 42 that An Antitype was prior mentioned in "42-1-17/41:1-42 9 (types 41:1-29) whatever that means I will just take it to mean i need to read and consider *41 before i just jump into *42. ("41:1-20 Abraham from the East /vs.2/Past")... ("$1:21-29 Cyrus From the North/vs.25/ Future)...

I feel the outlined timeline (above) is helpful above. Keeping it in mind I come to vs. 11

Is.42:11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

"Wilderness"- midbâr- H#4057

From H#1696 in the sense of driving; a pasture (that is, open field, whither cattle are driven); by implication a desert; also speech (including its organs): - desert, south, speech, wilderness.

H#1696- dabâr - a prim. root perh. prop. to arrange; but used fig. (of words), to speak, rarely (in a destructive sense) to sebdue;- answer, appoint, bid, command, commune, declare, destroy, give, name, promise, pronounce, rehearse, say, speak, be spokesman, subdue, talk, teach, tell, think, use tentreatiesl. utter,x well,x work.

..........

The prediction (prophecy) is that when Messiah comes/ 2nd advent (and Israel is redeemed and fulfills its purpose) then even the wilderness of Arabia (Kedar) will even receive light of the truth. Its inhabitants which were "enemies" of G-d as a nation who often even fought themselves and the world (jealousy stirred by G-d as a man of war)... Their high places shall be laid waste, herbs dried up, waters dried up (vs 15), and the people that were blind shall be brought unto a way they knew not (keeping in mind thats its Israel that is a light unto the gentiles and YHVH Israel's redeemer through His actions in Messiah), G-d will give them the ways of righteousness (Torah- vs.4), ways that they have Not known their Darkness will be turned to light (vs.16) their crooked paths straight. they shall be turned back , they shall be greatly ashamed that trust in idols (Kabba is an ancient house of idols and even today while its adopted by "islam" it still as a stone idol on it and has become the focuss of prayers and rituals adopted from the pagans. (vs.18) hear ye Deaf and look ye Blind that ye may see.

Vs.19 Is my servant (Israel) blind? Is my messenger deaf? (muhammad couldnt read that which the angel commanded him to read and couldnt hear spiritually as we see he got so much that he hijacked from the Jews and Christians completely out of context). Who is blind as he who is "perfect" (the word hear is plural form of peace and Apostacy/ confussion / deception is a False peace. ) and again is the Lord's servant blind?

We see these things in relation to Kedar (muslims) as well within churches that allow leaven (traditions of man to creep in) as well as within the priesthood of Israel that became currupted as well as the nation that needed to be redeemed and in all mankind in the garden

vs.20 as those who see many things but observest Not, those who have ears but hear NOT...

21 The LORD will Magnify His Torah (Make it clear and obvious to all the world even his enemy when Judgement/harvest comes and Israel stands as his true servant/ Redeemed through Moshiach/ and G-D will Make his Torah Honorable (there will be no more rejecting it, perverting it, mixing it as Islam has rather it willl stand when all else is judged.)

vs.22 BUT THIS PEOPLE have been robbed and spoiled, snared, hid in prisons (figurative/spiritual) they are Prey (muslims are first victims of islam as those of the world are victims of Satan....)and  none delievereth them (their culture makes wrong right and right wrong, an accepted norm). They are spoiled and none restore them.

23 Who among you will give ear to this? (As G-d breaks these bonds of Satan on these people how many of them shall come to G-d in Spirit and in truth (within their own hearts) how many of them shall be restored and delivered? "who will harken and hear for the time to come?"

vs24- examples of apostasy looking back on Israel

42:

18 Call to Hear

19,20 Israel (carnal mankind/ and Kedar) "blind and deaf"

21The Law is Magnified by YHVH

22 Judgements

23 call to hear

24 Jacob "spoiled and robbed"/ The law disreguarded by Israel

25 Judgements

Chapter 43 Fear not Jacob for i have redeemed the... So 42 basically gave us hope and joy in what we have to look forward to as believers in covenant and stresses to all the need to come to the covenant in truth or they will be judged harshly when Messiah returns.

While studying this muslim claim i also shared it with a (Arab) Christian brother by the name of "Christian Prince" and recently saw that he made a video about it! So I wanted to post that here as well!

More on exposing islam HERE

I realize that I am new here.  And that I have not followed enough of the questions in the forum.  However, on this topic I must post... I have never seen someone go so far to try to prove their point before!  So much out of text for this Muslim.  Jesus did give us a new law and fulfill a covenant.  "I give you a new law, love one another as I have loved you".  And he was called God's beloved.  Stretching just one thing gave him what he wanted.  That which the writings he refers to is about Jesus.  He has brought all of us 'Gentiles' salvation.  As he sent his disciples out into the world, the entire world, to save all of mankind.  I'm sorry for the man who turned the prophesies and twisted the word of God for his own benefit.  What does the bible say about changing any of the words written within it?  Does this pertain to interpretations as well?  No?  But it deals many times with false prophets and teachers that may lead the weak minded away from the truth.

Again, sorry to pop in on this, as I am new here.  But I will not let a person, who is twisting God's words for his own benefit, just go on and on without such a mention.  May God be with you and bless you all through his son, our redeemer, Jesus.
