Sin not unto death?

1 Jn.5:16-17 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin *not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin *not unto death./ .....  Jas.1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.... / Rom.6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord..... Compare and comment.

Are we seeing the difference between the unpardonable (un-repentative) sin (which causes one to be cut off from the congregation and the kingdom) or a difference in "sin"s.

Hi Will - The answer to your question is both. Yes, as you know, scripture does reveal that there are varying degrees of sin. And, in James and Romans that you've quoted, the sin that IS interrupted (not finished) and repented for, Grace forgives... grace will be given and restoresoration is made-- because the Sacrifice-Jesus is sufficient. Ask, knock, receive. This gift is beyond full comprehension. YHWH is above our thoughts and ways, Glory Hallelujah! Romans 11:29 His gifts and callings are irrevocable. Phlpns. 1:6 He who begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
