HaAdam was created from the dust of the Temple Mount and placed eastward. When there was less water it makes sense that the area now covered by water would have had rivers. We read of four coming to the garden. Today many rivers still empty into the broad section now covered by water Link Examples The Tigris, Euphrates, Shatt al Arab, and Karun rivers
