The Gemara and the Mishnah together make up the Talmud. The Talmud thus comprises two components: the Mishnah – the core text; and the Gemara – analysis and commentary which "completes" the Talmud (see Structure of the Talmud).
The rabbis of the Mishnah are known as Tannaim (sing. Tanna תנא). The rabbis of the Gemara are referred to as Amoraim (sing. Amora אמורא).
Because there are two Gemaras, there are in fact two Talmuds: the Jerusalem Talmud (Hebrew: תלמוד ירושלמי, "Talmud Yerushalmi"), and the Babylonian Talmud (Hebrew: תלמוד בבלי, "Talmud Bavli"), corresponding to the Jerusalem Gemara and the Babylonian Gemara; both share the same Mishnah. The Gemara is mostly written in Aramaic, the Jerusalem Gemara in Western Aramaic and the Babylonian in Eastern Aramaic, but both contain portions in Hebrew. Sometimes the language changes in the middle of a story

#Text Analysis
Joshua wrote the obituary of Moses in Deut.34
While the Torah is often mentioned as the 5 Books of Moses rabbinic authorities have told me Moshe wrote four of the five as the original scribe and priests of scribal duties under Moshe wrote the other one. Sadly I can’t exactly recall which one (perhaps I will cross paths with someone who knows). And the “rebbe” that spoke on it isn’t around anymore.

Talmudic insults of Messiah http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_in_the_Talmud

Rom.3:31/ Matt.5:17
This passage of Christ is cited in the Talmud (u), after this manner:
"it is written in it, i.e. in the Gospel, "I Aven", neither to diminish from the law of Moses am I come, "but", or "nor" (for in the Amsterdam edition they have inserted between two hooks), to add to the law of Moses am I come.''
Which, with their last correction, though not a just citation, yet tolerably well expresses the sense; but a most blasphemous character is affixed to Christ, when they call him "Aven"; which signifies "iniquity" itself, and seems to be a wilful corruption of the word "Amen", which begins the next "verse".
