"Zion" only reaches(fulfills) its biblical discription when the Eturnal Kingdom is established there (all politics aside). I relate all scripture of Zion to the last days and more spacifically the Day of the LORD. Today we call the three ranges of the mountain Moriah, Ophel, and Zion all interconnecting and the valleys (Kidron/Hinnom/ Tyropean) make up a Hebrew Shin which relates directly to YHVH. The term Zion can be used to mention the whole mountian range or more spacifically the lower range (in which we still see remnants of the old city of David ) Ps.2:6; 69:35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession; 76:2; 102:16 When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory,21; 129:5; 132:13 For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation/ 2 Sam.5:7 more spacifically mentions the location in relation to David's reign but still applies cause the septer shall not depart from Judah and thus relates to Messiah Yeshua, Lord over David/ Is.31:4 For thus hath the Lord spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof./ Is.24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously...
