Intro:

 We are told much about what happens when one passes over in general. To be grounded in this subject one has to define the scriptural context of a few terms.This blog will document through the Word of God that ones spirit leaves the flesh (Physical realm) and enters into the spirit realm, where it is easy to tell if such spirits are currently in good or bad standing. This blog will touch on the lord's day as well and what happens at the Beginning and End of the Lord's day./ NO one at this time has died Spiritually.

Terminology

 

When it comes to the English we need to revert a number of terms back to the original languages to grasp the context of what is being revealed. Some of the terms are: Soul, Spirit, Flesh and "Hell".

 

 

 

>Soul in the Hebrew is to say Nephesh ( נפש) #5315). Nephesh basically is to say any living (*breathing) thing & the *whole of the entity. The entity that is (the whole) *man consists of two things  spirit and flesh which Separate & have differ states at Physical death as documented time after time after time.
>Spirit is that breath of life / Neshama ( נשמה) #5397)/ Ruwach/Ruach ( ר֫וּחַ) - Hebrew #7307/ Greek- pneuma/ The spirit is incorruptible. It doesnt grow old nor does it get sick... We relate the Greek pneuma to air when we think of pneumatic tires! The Word gives a discription of The Spirit and how it works. It is compared to the wind.

-- Jn.3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

You can't see the wind. You can only see the effects of the wind. The same is with the spirit. You can't see the spirit but you can observe the fruits (actions) of the spirit. Action/Fruits is how the Spirit interacts in the physical in a physical way.

What else do we consider unseen? Faith Heb.11:1,3,7/ Love/ Hate/ Ideologies/ Intelect.... These are spiritual!

Rom.8:24-25/ 2 Cor.4:18/ Jn.20:25/ Jn.20:29/ 1 Tim.3:16/ Jn.3:6-7/ Jn.3:12 /

When it comes to devine Truth, Pure Love 1 Jn.4:7-8,16, Forgiveness, Patience, Humbleness, ... these are descriptions of the Holy Spirit

 7 - Spiritual completeness  

/Flesh of course is the physical form we take in the physical realm. Flesh (phy)= Curruptible- grows old, gets sick, prone to injury

 

Note:The soul (nephesh) of a (that is) man is made up of two things, flesh (dust) and spirit (neshama/ruach). (Gen.2:7): The breath (neshama/ruach/-"spirit") thereof came forth of YHVH. Neshama can also be seen as nephesh, for at phy death the body (nephesh/soul) that is Man dies and the two (spirit and flesh) are no longer unified (echad). At this seperation of spirit and flesh (passing over) the nephesh (body) that is man dies and yet the Being lives on in Spirit! The spirit goes back to the Father who gave it (enters the spirit realm)  and the dust goes back to the earth (dust) from which it came. * Thus now the incorruptible neshama/ruach (spirit) is the whole of the entity and a living breathing thing (nephesh/ soul). This is why its said to the Man under the sun that the dead know nothing cause intelect is of the spirit and the phy no longer has the spirit. Thus the phy body (nephesh/soul) is asleep. But the spiritual body (nephesh) lives. When the curruptible body hath put on incorruption and the mortal hath put on immortality THen one hath the victory In Yeshua HaMashiach (hath taken part in the resurrection)!

 

-- Gen.2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (neshama) ; and *man became a living soul (nephesh). (Job.33:4)

 

 

Man is made up of Flesh and Spirit. While spirit was alive before it became one with the flesh the two are one living thing which is Nephesh. You have both (a) spirit (body) and (a) flesh (body/ defacto).

 

Note both Ruach and Neshama are described as being this breath (Gen.7:22/ Job.27:3). Both these terms are translated as Spirit sometimes just Neshama, sometimes Just Ruach and sometimes BOTH are translated together into the single term "spirit".

 

>Hell - Sheol, Hades, Gehenna,.../verses Lake of Fire
Physical Grave, Righteous indignation, Spiritual Death, or symbolizim of both Physical and Spiritual deadend.

1 Cor.15:35,36,37,38,39,40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49,50,51,52,53,54,55,56,57,58

(1Cor.15:35/ Where are the dead?/ 1 Cor. 15:37 The body that returns to the ground is not the body that shall be, you shall be known by your fruits.)

-- 1 Cor.15:40 There are also celestial (heavenly) bodies, and bodies terrestrial (earthly): but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

-- 1 Cor. 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

-- 1 Corinthians 15:44 - It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. ( Hebrews 9:27)
-- 2 Corinthians 5:7-10 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

-- Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. (Ps.104:29)(Phil.3:21)

 

-- 1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

-- 1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
When you shed the corruptible flesh and are found in spirit, the spirit is still liable to die (mortal). To put on immortality is to partake of the sacrifice (Passover) and the Rest (Sabbath) of YHVH as some know by the name of Yahshua (Christ).

-- 1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. (Is. 25:8/ Heb.2:14- death is one of the devils names!)

Just and unjust passover to spirit realm - Jn.5:29/ Acts 24:15

"Soul sleep" Outline:

/When one understands there is more than one concept of "soul" (spirit in relation to the phy body and the spirit body) then they can also see more than one context of "soul sleep". (may need to revert back to Nephesh notes above^)./

There are two resurrections mentioned in the Word and two deaths. The first death takes place when one Passes over. This happens at physical death, and is also described as what takes place to all in an instant at the 7th trumpet (1 Cor.15:51-52) /All shed the flesh/. When one passes over they enter into the spirit realm (return to the Father/ can see into the spirit realm) and the flesh returns to the dust (Lk.24:5). At this time God determines if the spirit is in good standing or not. The Spirit realm is divided by a gulf (Luke 16:26). On one side are those in good standing and on the other those not in good standing.

At the 7th trumpet (Beginning of the Lord's day) the first resurrection takes place (Rev.20:5-6). Those who dont take part in the first resurrection will either take part in the second resurrection or the second death at the end of the Lord's day. The Lord's day is a time of discipline (Those who embrace the symbolizim of the Word can see the Lord's day spoken of in Ez.40-48 / Rev.(20:1-6)/ Ez. 44:25). All have come to see Christ at his coming and know he is very real. All are in spirit form. There is no more temptation of the flesh. There is no more temptation of the wicked one either, Until a small season when he is loosed at the end of the Lord's day to tempt those who did not partake in the first resurrection (Rev.20:2-3, 7-9/ I personally see two portions to God and Magog like the two advents of our Messiah, I feel this is what the scripture clearly shows, The first mention of Gog and Magog is like unto this one but is done leading up to the 1,000yrs. This one is done at the end of the 1,000 yrs at the time of the great white throne judgement and right before the eturnal age/ Second resurrection and death). But by this time all will know better. Those who seek to embrace rebellion will be cast into the Lake Of Fire with the wicked one and cease to exsist. The Final judgement takes place at the Great white Throne Judgement at the end of the Lord's day. The role of antiChrist is cast into the lake of Fire at the beginning of the Lord's day.

Those who have a ongoing relationship with God are asked to spread the good news not to go around telling others they have no hope of salvation which would be the opposite. Matt.5:22/ Matthew 7:1/ Matt.18:23-35/ Matt.7:3-5 and Luke 6:41-42/ Matthew 6:12

For us to say one is Spiritually dead, we mean one of two things.

1) One who doesn't have spiritual eyes, ears or a circumcised heart.

2) One who takes part in the second death (spiritual)/ To cease to exsist.

- Ez.18:4- Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die./ Psalm 68:20

- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

The subject is- where are the dead. We can't prevent those who have gone (Passed over) before us, WHY? because they have already gone! They are in the spirit realm. We shall be harvested together in a large group (metaphors and symbols already used and layed down in the scriptures (large group Hebrews 12:1 / in the clouds to run a foot race! notice the location and time. This is the same event we know as the olympics today, yet the metaphor used here is clouds.) Note: Matthew 13:30 the tares are harvested first! That is more conformation of what is really being said here.

___________Soul Sleep?______

-Luke 23:43 Christ told the malefactor To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Sleep in the Word is often to say physical death (* Jn.11:11,14 */ 1 kings 2:10/ 1 Kings 11:43/ 1 Kings14:31/ 1 Kings 15:8). Its good to know the context, when one mentions soul sleep. Are we speaking of being spiritually dead or physically dead? The context of "soul sleep" would comlicate the facts for one who listens to traditions of men rather than finding where all scripture agrees.

We have already taken a look at the Hebrew term for soul (Nephesh) which is used to mention a living breathing creature of which man is.When Man dies the breath leaves and man is considered dead (asleep). This is soul sleep and is not to say that the spirit is dead. Spiritually dead is another concept of which we have already covered as well. We should keep this in mind when digesting the scriptures in truth. You could say physical death is soul sleep in this context.

Earthly things pass away.

Example:

Ps.146:4 His breath (Ruwach) goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
(Notice his spirit left the flesh.)

One who doesn't know Ecclesiastes (and Psalms) is written to the (PHY) man under the sun (in a human perspective/relation to the Phy.) would not be properly dividing the Word.

Ecc.9:4-6/vs.5-6 "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun."

(Ps.6:5 /Psalm 30:9 /Psalm 88:10-12 /Psalm 115:17-18 /Psalm 118:17 /Isaiah 38:18 /Isaiah 38:19)The concerns of the flesh stay with the flesh.

Pharisees- Do believe in life after death
Others (biblically illiterate) get physical death mixed up with spiritual death.

 The Sadducces (priests that did not believe in Life after death) came as lawyers to Messiah (Mk.12:18-26). Here Christ pointed to the book of Moses (Ex.3:6,15 / Mk.12:26) to show that God is not the God of the dead but rather the God of the living!- Matt.22:32/ = Mk.12:27/= Lk.20:38
* Lk.24:5 * Why seek ye the living among the dead?

- Rev.6:10- notice these Martyrs have thoughts and are alive, They are even speaking to the Lord and the Lord is responding. These spirits have not gone into a hole in the ground (Psalm 16:10 , Acts 2:27) here are two places where the living breathing thing (Nephesh) is spirit (Ruwach).

(*Death/ Isaiah 65:20/ Ecc.7:1/ )

When it comes to those who will take part of the 2nd death they will perish after being consumed by truth. They will no longer be remembered.

Flesh cant inherite the kingdom and vs.52 mentions the trumpet in this chapter

(Jer.7:33, Is.56:9, Eze. 39:17, Rev.19:17-18 , Lk.19:27, Matt.13:30) Christ didnt teach his people to kill others because they have a different religion But at Judgement the enemies will be gathered and dealt with

Rabbinic (Talmudic) Comentaries on the subject:

Bullinger via the companion bible points to Lightfoot (Hebrew and Talmudical Exercitations, vol.xii pg 159- 68

I find one area here most descriptive of the spirit realm after phy. death.

It reads: "There are wicked men, that are coupled together in this world. But one of them repents before death; the other doth not; so the one is found standing in the assembly of the just the other , in the assembly of the wicked. The one seeth the other , and saith Woe! and alas! here is accepting of persona in this thing; - he and i robbed together, committed murder together; and now he stands in the congregation of the just, and i , in the congregation of the wicked- They answer him, O thou most foolish amoungst mortals, that are in the world! Thou wert abominable, and cast forth for three days after thy death, and they did not lay thee in the grave; The worm was under thee and the worm covered thee; which when this companion of thine came to understand, he became a penitent. It was in thy power also to have repented, but thou didst not.- He saith unto them, Let me go now, and become a penitent. But they say, o Thou foolishest of men, doest thou not know, that this world, in which thou art, is like the shabbat, - and the world, out of which thou camest, is like the evening (preperation) of the shabbat? If thou doest not provide (prepare) something on the evening of the sabbath, what wilt thou eat on the sabbath-day? Doest thou not know, that the world out of which thou camest, is like the land, and the world in which thou now art is like the sea? *1 Cor.15:35-44 both (animals and men) have flesh bodies & spirits /souls (yet they differ)

35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come

36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

(Physical is corruptible/ Spiritual is incorruptible. Your Spirit doesnt age, get sick, ... Yet it is mortal lest it put on immortality)

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

 

Gen.7:15-animals have the breath of life (of course)

Is.65:25- discription of animals in the eturnity

(Eze.18:4 All souls belong to YHVH) Ecc. written to man under the sun /In The Phy relation until otherwise emphasizes the Spirit. Ecc. 3:21 (KJV) "Who knoweth the ruach (spirit) of man that goeth upward, and the sprit (ruach) of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?"...

"That goeth"- is mentioned as one of the emendations of the Sopherim, though it is not included in the official lists. The Primitive Text read the letter He (H) as an interrogative "whether it go" (2:19; 6:12)... The Chald., Sept., Syr., Vulg., Luther, Geneva, and R.V. follow this reading... Another school took the H as the article pronoun and read "that goeth up" (instead) thus avoiding a supposed objection to its public reading which was followed by Coverdale, The Bishop's Bible, and the A.V.. Its therefore the Figurative EROTESIS leaving the question to be answered later (some point to 12:7 for this answer) Some keep 1 Cor.15 in mind on the subject which of course was revelation revealed long after. Which states that man, beasts and fish have different flesh (and we know each has a spirit (ruach). They all go through the process of physical death...

Phil.3:20-21 For our conversation (citizenship) is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Many ministers and doctors and often times family members who have visited one in the process of passing over will share testimonies of how the one who passed over gave clues that they began to see into the spirit realm as they passed over.
I am familure with 3 such stories. These people often start talking to people who have already passed away.
